Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have question regarding a stent which was put in 10 years ago. What is the best way to detect if the stent is still working properly. My doctor has ordered a Stress Test, but said the large medical centers might have a better way of detecting this. My blood pressure is normal, but I have felt a little pressure in my chest. Of course, this pressure could be the result of a pulled muscle, but I don't know how to know the exact cause. The pressure is not a problem at this moment. Thanks so much for your help! HGE
the duty of the stent is to keep the vessel where it is placed patent, if it is not working the only way to detect with confrimation is to get a coronaty angiography done.
