Is It Normal To Have Neck And Throat Pain After Hitting One's Head?

Yesterday I was at the doctor for abdominal pain and nausea and wound up passing out and hitting my head. They told me to go to the ER. I went and they did an ultrasound and CT scan on my abdomen and said they couldn't find anything. They never bothered to look at my head. Today I have a blown pupil which I've heard is normal. But what's really bothering me is that my throat and neck now hurt. Is that normal after hitting your head?

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

It is not usual to have throat and neck pain after getting head injury.
However, we can assume that you did not have any serious head injury, as you have no severe headache, double vision, vomiting, etc.

As of now, you can take a pain-killer tablet such as diclofenac or ibuprofen. If pain does not reduce, you may wish to consult your doctor for detailed evaluation.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
