Is It Normal To Have Bloody Vaginal Discharge Following A Hysterectomy?

I had a supracervical total hysterectomy two days ago. I just went to the bathroom and had a fair amount of mucous-like vaginal discharge with a small bit of blood, after not seeing any blood for two days. I am currently taking 40m lovenox injections which I started yesterday. Is this normal or should I be concerned?

Hello,

No I think that this may be a normal phenomenon following hysterectomy as bleeding from vault is a common phenomenon following hysterectomy.

Start a course of tranaxemic acids tablet. 5 days and antibiotics course also , if bleeding persists then it may be a matter of concern and a ultrasound examination of whole abdomen may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
