Is It Normal To Have A Heavy Bleeding For Few Months?

Hi, I am 52 yrs. old. I have been bleeding heavy for the past few months, blood clot. My Dr. told me about this shot I would take every 3 months and it would stop the bleeding I took one shot a couple of months ago and I bleed heavy for almost two weeks and after the cycle my blood is very dark and that goes on for over two weeks... is this normal?

Hello madam, your history is incomplete...you did not mention mention if you have undergone any tests or a biopsy before starting the depo...you need to go back to your gynaecologist, as you may require a pelvic examination and also if necessary you may require an endometrial biopsy to know the cause of bleeding...It is important to control the blood loss as it will lead to anaemia...Heavy bleeding in perimenopausal and menopausal women need an examination...hope i was helpful to you. ...
