Is Excessive Bleeding A Symptom Of Perimenopause?

Hello, I m 48 and having an odd period. I usually have a medium to light cycle for 5 day max with the last 3 days light. My cycles are usually a month apart, but not exactly 28 days. This cycle came at 45 days, has been 5 days with the last 4 days being heavy for me- I have to change tampon every 2 to 2.5 hours. I m thinking this has to do with pre menopause-but want to get a doctors opion.

Hi,
As you are 48 years of age now gradually you will have menopause.
During this time due to hormonal changes period might be less or more, early or late.
Wait for few cycles and if you got profuse period, consult your gynaec and rule out any pathology in your uterus.
Ok and take care.
