Are There Any Tests To Distinguish Between Pregnancy And Premenopausal Condition?

I am 42 and have started perimenopause...i missed my menstrual cycle and tested positive for pregnancy. My question: is it possible to get a false reading due to the perimenopause? What is the best test to take to distinguish between pregnancy and perimenopause?

Hi,

You can test for beta HCG hormone in your blood. More reliable.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B. Radhakrishnan. Nair, OBGYN
