Is Baby Aspirin Safe In Pregnancy?

Safty of baby Aspirin for pregnant My wife will enter the second trimester after 2 days.. she has family history of hypertension, heart diseases, and strock. sometimes she had abnormalities in BP, hyper or hypo. One doctor adviced her to take baby aspirin 81mg as protective when she get the abnormalities, if not usually, specially when she has high BP. She feel these days headache in the forehead, and behined, and her BP seem to be normal, and she want to take baby aspirin as a protective. We read about it, and we found that its category C. what is your advice dear??

Hullo and welcome to Healthcare forum. Any medicine is taken in pregnancy only if its benefits outweigh the risks. Aspirin is a blood thinning drug and should not be taken in last 3 months of pregnancy and is also contra-indicated during the breast feeding period. Do consult a qualified obstetrician for more details. There are other pain killers that are safe during pregnancy. Take care
