I have been diagnosed with anxiety, I have heart palpitations because of it so they put me on a beta blocker fr that also. I take 2 types of BP medicines and thyroid med for hypothyroidism and a hormone pill. I once was prescribed Xanax for anxiety and it also helped with myy heart racing. I am in process of trying to change primary physician as the one I had quit prescribing these type meds at all because HE was on a list his nurse said. So now I have had one office visit with a new one but saw the PA and explained to her. They want to ONLY put me on antidepressant. I am scared of these and have tried them before to no avail. I am trying to give these people a chance cause I am a new patient there. But I am really at a loss, should I go to a particular kind of doctor or how do I get one to listen and or what do you think? Do u think I should take antidepressant even though its only extreme anxiety. I am 58 yrs old and really kinda also concerned about mixing antidepressants with all the other meds I take for high bp and heart racing and hypothyroidism?
