Is A Sore Throat Causing A Dry Cough Of Concern?

I contracted a cold with sinusitis about February 23rd. I still have a scratchy throat causing me to cough (dry). It is not keeping me up at night. Should I be concerned or is this just part of a persistent viral cold? I started to get better about a week after the cold and then got worse again, and then better. I have no other symptoms except seasonal allergies.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to post nasal drip which is very common after sinusitis. I suggest using a decongestant such as Dexometorphan. I also recommend to sue saline nasal spray. Using a humidifier at home can be very helpful. I also recommend to drink liquids.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
