Is Thyroxine Really Needed For TSH Levels?

Hi my tsh level was 3.77 my doc put me on 25mg thyroxine. Then another blood test showed 6.00 my doc increased it to 50 mg then another blood test and now 75mg. I am getting a cold every 3 weeks. I am thinking about stopping the thyroxine. Did i really need it?

I can understand your concern.

Your TSH is high and it is increasing so you have hypothyroidism. You need thyroid supplement like thyroxin. Regularly check your TSH level and set the dosage of thyroxin accordingly. Try to maintain your TSH at low normal range.
