Is Benicar A Blood Thinner? Does Taking Vitamins Can Lead To Palpitation?

Is Benicar a blood thinner? I take 1/2 of a 20mg pill for my slightly elevated blood pressure. Lately, I have had some palpitations, only for a few seconds. I am a female and 45 yrs. I have had problems with my potassium levels. I take a potassium pill everyday along with prenatal vitamins, vitamin D and vitamin B-complex. The D and prenatal and benicar were directed by my doctor. The others were my extra input. I know the liver can only process so much. So should I ask my doctor to switch my blood pressure meds and does the vitamins I take make a difference in these palpitations? They are not on a frequent basis, only every so often.

Hi.. Welcome.. First of all TAB BENICAR IS NOT A BLOOD THINER.. IT'S AN ANTIHYPERTENSIVE DRUG.. WHICH REDUCES BLOOD PRESSURE.. Second - Plz do an holter test which is a 24 hrs ecg test for your palpitations, low potassium can cause palpitations.. Take coconut water and banana regularly for low potassium.. Check also kidney profile and blood cortisol level.. Thank u. Have a nice day. Unnecessary vitamins are not required so please check blood vitamin level also.. If it is normal then you can stop meds for vitamins.. Continue tab Benicar.
