Does Over Use Of Benicar/HCTZ Cause A Bit Of Muscle/joint Pain ?

I am almost 60 yrs old and on a Benicar/HCTZ Tab 20-12.5 mg to help lower blood pressure. Been on this for about 3 years and BP has been great running 120/65 previously was running 145/77. Seems like I m having quite a bit of muscle/joint pain and am beginning to wonder if the Benicar can be causing this. Feels like I m gettingartritis everywhere. And if so what can I do about it? Hello,

Muscle pains can be related to several conditions but in your case, because you are using Benicar/HCTZ and it may cause dehydration or electrolyte imbalances that may cause muscle cramps it is important to have a check with your doctor and rule out medication's side effects.

Your doctor may need to check your blood pressure and do some blood tests including electrolytes in blood (especially K+ level).
