Hello,

Thanks for the query

Before i respond to your question, i will like to tell you that there are two main types of rhythm disturbances in heart. One in which the rhythm becomes faster called as tachyarrythemia and the second in which it becomes slower called as bradyarrthymia .

The problem that you have paroxysmal atrial fibrillation needs evaluation. First of all ECho cardiogram of the heart should be done to rule out if there is any structural heart problem or not. Secondly, thyroid function tests should be obtained.

If there is no structural heart problem then the management will be as follows

1. The medical treatment that your doctor has advised have to be continued
2. There are centers where they can locate the area of abnormality in heart through electrophysiology study and you can go for a treatment called as radio-frequency ablation..

Such centers in India are- Narayana Hhrudayalaya Hospital Bangalore, AIIMS Deli, Sree chitra Trivandrum and so on

Hope this helps
