How To Treat Pain In Hips And Knees And Spreading Rash On Stomach And Back?

Hi I have a rash that is hot and lumpy under my arm down my arm and on my thighs that have turned to bruises on my thighs. The hospital dr have me prednisalone 30 stat and a cream to use but I have developed pain in my hips and knees and the rash is spreading to belly n bak. It is worse around my ankles, on my thighs and Around the line of my underwear

Hi,

I can understand your concern for the sudden swelling, redness and discomfort at different areas of body.

After reading the query, in my opinion it appears to be two possibilities:

1. Allergic dermatitis: There is sudden redness and itching on contact with a particular contact allergen.

2. Acrocyanosis: this is due to exposure to cold which causes sudden redness with pain sensation rather than itching.

I suggest you to apply medium potency steroid cream application because are best effective in these condition. I would have opted for either mometasone or Fluticasone or cortisone cream.

Do not pinch, pop or scratch or even touch the area unnecessarily as it can cause aggravation of the rash.

Wear cotton clothes and cotton inner garments which will give a soothing feeling to the skin.

Stay away from extreme of cold environment. It would be best to consult a dermatologist for the best possible cause.
