How To Treat A Shoulder Pain After Holding An Electrical Wire?

I grabbed an electrical cord in the attic by accident. I couldn t let go, not sure how long I held on. Had left shoulder pain immediately & down my arm. I now have shoulder pain that isn t going away. I ve tried ice & Motrin. What should I look for as critical symptoms or should I be going to see a dr now?!

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Possibly you have injured some shoulder muscles during electric shock. Start pain killers and physiotherapy and if there is no improvement in 2-3 weeks, Get an MRI of the shoulder. Showing a doctor is always better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gopal Goel, Orthopaedic Surgeon
