How To Get Rid Of The Nausea And Chills Caused By Sulmafethoxazole-tmp Ds Tablets?

I got very sick while taking sulmafethoxazole-tmp ds tablet. felt nauseous, but did not throw up, also had chills with no fever. I am 75 and taking it to help cure an infected bug bite. I quit taking the drug after 3 days, but the symtoms remain. Felt like I had the flu.

Hi

Your symptoms suggest you might be allergic to the drug.Allergy to sulfonamide group of drugs is common.Kindly stop continuing the drug.Alternate antibiotics can be used.Drugs preventing nausea and vomiting are available. They can be taken half an hour before food.

Paracetamol can be taken for mild fever. If fever persists for more than three days, other causes such as infections should be ruled out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
