General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Post methadone withdrawal chills may be due to low blood pressure, dehydration, low glucose level, etc. Nausea and vomiting is common and is due to stomach acid production. He should stay well hydrated and take nutritious home made food. He can take famotidine, one SOS, once daily to feel better. He is suggested to get connected to a GP, so that withdrawal symptoms can be managed in time.

Your doctor can provide treatments to ease withdrawal symptoms and shorten the process of withdrawal. These treatments make it much more likely that you will recover fully. Family members should give emotional support to help the better and quicker recovery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
