How To Cure Rashes On Upper Part Of The Arms & Shoulders ?

Hi i just put my 4 year old son in the tub and noticed a rash on the upper part of both of his arms to the shoulder area. They look thin, light red and squiggly / streaky. He is not complaining of itching. Wondering if there is cause for concern. Thank you - Heather

Hi,

If there is no associated fever and the child is active otherwise, nothing to worry. This may a contact dermatitis. If any itching or discomfort, you can apply Calamine lotion over there twice daily for 3-5 days. If asymptomatic, no treatment is needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
