Hello my name is Lakia I was wondering about a medication my doctor gave me suboxen. I have never been an addict, but He said I need it too help me wean of my meds which is tramadol, but it makes me feel very drowsy and it is the lowest dosage i can receive what can i do
Hi, As Tramadol can cause physical as well as psychological dependence and lead to various symptoms on withdrawal like- nausea, vomiting stomach upset, craving, diarrhoea, depression, tremor, agitation, seizure and restless leg. So some medication are essential to be given before withdrawal of tramadol. Suboxone contain buprenorphine and naloxone, so, the adverse effect of buprenorphine like drowsiness can be minimized by Naloxone. As you are taking this drug in lowest dosages you can continue it under your doctor guidance. Take care, bye.
