How To Get Relief From Pain In Lower Back And Buttocks?

I have severe throbbing in my right groin area and in the last few days i feel throbbing in my left groin but not as severe. I have lower back pain and pain or throbbing in my right and left buttock . In 2008 I had some epidural injections at a pain management clinic. These injections did not have any effect on the throbbing. I have been taking neurontin, tramadol, amitriptyline all for the pain management. Before I began taking these medications i was having spells of weakness in my legs and after i started these meds the weakness gradually abated. The meds have worked ok for the last few years but these last few days have left me feeling dreadful and I have begun taking tylenonol for relief but really the pain/throbbing is not relieved much. The pain /throbbing all along has been when I am sitting and I did not feel any throbbing when walking. But lately I feel low back pain and pain in my buttocks when walking as well. I really feel awful . I really do not know where I need to go. Chiropracteror? more pain management doctors who seem only to be interested if i undergo more spinal injections.

Hi,

You need a detailed personal clinical examination of blood vessels of the leg before trying therapy. As blockage in blood vessels can cause symptoms very similar to what you have described. Please do visit an hospital as early as possible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kampana, General & Family Physician
