How Can Focal Seizure Syndrome Be Treated?

hy my daughter z 3yrs & 9 mnths old,she z suffering from headache since 5 mnths.the onset of pain is sudden & short.She is active & smart.Her EEG was done last week which was not normal & report showed she has tendency of foccal seizure syndrome.dr will give her tegretol which has severe side effects,now tell me what to do.what is her future,how can i safe her from this disease.Can she grow & behave normally,what is drug of ur choice

I really appreciate your concern, in my opinion it is better to get done the CT of brain, if she has not episode of any convulsion then it is too early to say about epilepsy and even early to start the "Carbamazepine" in absence of seizure, some time with history of seizure and suspected case of grand mal epilepsy CT brain can be done, hope this information helps, take care.
