Hi, Your clinical picture is suggestive of metropathic cycles caused perhaps due to the ovarian cyst. As you have responded well to hormonal replacement, you should continue the treatment as advised. With such hormonal disturbances, stopping the medication after a single cycle usually causes the situation to revert and it is usually given for 3-4 months to give the body enough time for the hormonal balance to regain. Side effects usually observed are heaviness of breasts, bloating, headaches, rashes and in rare instances thromboembolic disorders, liver disturbances, hypertension etc. Regular monitoring is essential. Hope your query is clarified. Good luck.
