Having Brown Discharge, dizziness, Nausea, HPT Negative. What Could This Discharge Indicate?

I ve been having this brown discharge for about 3 weeks now. Initially it was red/pink, I thought it was breakthrough bleeding even though I ve been on BC for 7 months. Then the color changed to blackish brown for a few days, now brown. I ve also had bouts of dizziness and nausea. All OTC pregnancy tests were negative. What could this discharge indicate?

Hello,

First of all, you should undergo one blood test for beta HCG level to exclude product of conception or implantation bleeding.

In exclusion of pregnancy, continuous brown period discharge is mostly associated with hormonal imbalance, effect of using OCP previously or vaginal infection and may be co-existed with stress/ anxiety, thyroid disorder, irregular diet habit, psychological factor etc.

Need to investigate properly by doing one USG scan, complete hormone assay, thyroid profile, vaginal swab test, blood sugar etc. Treatment depends on underlying etiology. Consult with your gynecologist at the earliest.

Avoid stress, take healthy diet with iron supplements, control body wt, maintain genital hygiene properly and take proper sleep.

Be well.
