Have Intermittent Abdominal Pain, Constipation, Gallstones. How To Get Rid Off It?

I have intermittent abdominal pain . Have constipation controlled by Magnesium tabs. I belch a lot. Was Rx Omeprazole but stopped it because I heard it caused liver damage. Blood worked showed high pancreatic enzymes over 400. Had sonogram which showed gallstones. After a really bad pain attack, pancreatic enzymes went down and MD thought I might have passed a stone. Told her 20 yrs ago was dx with IBS so was Rx Bentyl. That made me have problems processing mentally. A ny ideas how I might get rid of this abdominal pain will help

Dear friend,

Thanks for posting your query on this website. I can fully appreciate your concern for problem.

Usually, there are several gall bladder stones present. Sometimes, a small stone slips into the bile duct and cause obstruction and may lead to inflammation of pancreas (Pancreatitis). Your amylase value of 400 suggests that you had had a brief episode of pancreatitis.

In case you have recurrent severe colicky pain in right upper abdominal region, it is strongly recommended that you undergo surgery for removal of gall-stones. Consult your Surgeon for surgery.

I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.

May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.

Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.

HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

Fond Regards,

Dr.(Col) R Karanwal
