Have A Very Bad Throat For A Couple Of Days, Have Soreness And A Coating On The Walls Of The Throat

Hello, I have had a bad throat on one side for about 4 days. My boyfriend had a cold so I thought I was getting that bit it hasn t turned into a cold. It has eased each day last Sunday being the worst but just hurts now aNd then. Sometimes it doesn t hurt. The back of my throat looks sore and there is a little bit of what looks like a yellow coating.

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding soreness in throat along with yellow coating.

As your boy friend had cold therefore it is most likely , that you get this throat infection. As you said that you have soreness in throat along with yellow coating at the posterior part of throat indicates about sepsis in throat.

To manage it properly you are advice for these basic investigations-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- X-Ray of paranasal sinuses.

3- Blood- CBC, ESR, blood sugar (F & PP).

Till you are waiting for reports to come and consult ENT doctor for thorough examination, you may take these -

a- Tab Paracetamol.

b- Antibiotic ( preferably broad spectrum)

c- Rabeprazole with domperidone.

d- Warm saline gargling.

I hope this will help you but if you can't get satisfactory response than consultation with ENT doctor will become necessary.
