Have A Pea Size Lump On Anus. Have Pain. Taking Fiber Powder. Home Remedies?
For the last month I ve been taking a fiber powder, and two days ago a lump a size of a pea, purple blue in color has shown up on rim of my anus . Its painful and I ve tried preparation h and its hasn t shrunk or lessened the pain any. Is there anything else i can do at home to lessen the pain or getting to go away, or should i go to the doctor?
If you wish to try a home remedy, do go in for a Sitz bath with some diluted betadine solution.
In addition Ibuprofen 400/600 mg three times daily as an anti-inflammatory agent may help relax you provided you do not have an allergy to the medication.
It may just be a hemorrhoid from your description & perhaps a local anaesthetic cream such as 2% lidocaine or EMLA may help relieve the pain further.
Do make sure you drink plenty of fluids & consume lots of fiber & ensure the stools are soft or use a commercially available stool softener!
