Hi,
It seems that there might be having heavy deposition of fungus in external ear.
It might be painful removing fungus without doing local part numb.
So doctor might have advised scrapping of fungus under local anesthesia.
There is no need of having empty stomach while local anesthesia.
Ok and take care.

Is the Diflucan and Lamesil and fluconozole pill what is used to treat nail fungi and does it clear up most nailbed infections? My chemo doctor stopped prescribing one of the pills for me after my last chemo and until then it had been helping clear up my nails. Now he passed me off to a pediatrist that told me once you get fungi of the nails then you always have it - (not true?) and he wouldn t prescribe me a pill either. So I been using topical and it doesn t work. I took a urine infection test at home and my leukasites were positive for infection. Not even the dermatologist at Stanford would give me a pill. The pill cleared up my nail infections until the doctor quit prescribing it and I think a low grade nailbed infection can give me cancer eventually? The website said I get a free question then after writing it and submitting there were several options to pay. If it is free like it said, the website, then you can send me an answer via my email please. YYYY@YYYY

I recently had a fungal infection in both ears. According to the Dr. that has cleared up. But now I have a dripping of mostly clear stuff. It causes severe itching so bad that I sometimes make them bleed a little from scratching. They often itch terribly even without the dripping. Is there something I can do to relieve the itching?

84 year old man, never a health issue, exercises daily eats extremely healthy. 9 months ago starts to loose weight and begins to have difficulty in normal daily activities. Family becomes concern and sets the wheels in motion to figure out what is wrong. Come to find out that this man needs a triple bypass. Has the operation. The first three days out of surgery no problems, gets moved out ICU. Day four has episodes of V-Tach and then that night codes. After 25 minutes doctors revive him. They keep him under sedation and something called a cooling vest for the next 24 hours (amongst other machines like a respirator) and quite a few I.V. meds. Day 5 he slowly wakes and before an assessment for the possibility of brain loss he goes into v-tach that they can no longer control with the external pace maker. They make an emergent decison to implant a devise that night. He makes it through the night. Once the sedation wore off the next morning (day 6), his v-tach episodes return so then the docs make another decision to go in and preform mapping and ablation. Day 7, the episodes still occur but not as intense, docs are letting him rest over the weekend and then will reassess on monday. His condition hasn t worsened but hasn t improved either. What are his chances?

Hi. I received general anesthesia for a minor surgical procedure eight days ago. I've noticed that my urine has a strong odor to it--it was particularly powerful the same day of my surgery but it is still lingering. Is it likely that I am smelling the anesthesia being voided from my system? I have no other symptoms and feel fine. Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a close friend that was in a serious auto accident ... brain buise is what they have told us. He has been sedated with propofol now on fentanyl . Seems extremely aggitated and much anxiety. when they lighten his meds to try to wake him up a little/ Does this sound correct. He is in ICU but was wondering if someone read to him or played soft music it would have a calming effect.
