Had Hollenhorst Plaque. Performed Echocardiogram, Carotid Artery Doppler, MRA. Prescribed Aspirin. Is This The Correct Treatment?

I am a 60 year old female, exercise daily, eat healthy, don't drink or smoke but recently had a Hollenhorst plaque. I have since had an echocardiogram, carotid artery doppler and MRA all of which came out clear. I have controlled high blood pressure ( 115/75) and do not have high collesterol. My physician recommended taking 325 mg aspirin daily and that is all. From looking online, I wonder should I be doing more?

Hello,
Hollenhorst plaque is depostion of cholesterol in the blood vessels of retina. It has got risk for development of similar embolus plaques in cardiac and cerebral vessels hence associated with risk of stroke and myocardial infarction. Hence it is better to give prophylactic aspirin as you are prescribed.
Hence continue the drug it is required.

Thank you
