Had Complete Hysterectomy. Been On Premarin. Continue Medication?

I have been on premarin since 1999 when I had a complete hysterectomy. For the most part, I've done well one it. I've tried to stop taking it a few times and haven't felts well...AT ALL. I'm getting pressure from my m.d. to stop taking it because of the possible dangers. Is Cenestrin similar? What's wrong with continuing premarin if I feel ok? I'm 62 years old...thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Premarine 0.625 mg is an estrogen hormone , while cenestrin is also synthetic conjugated estrogen hormone , basically both are same regarding properties.
Since 14 years has passed and still you are taking premarine .
Now you are 62 years and this is the age when estrogen hormone don't secret in body .
So this is natural for you stop premarine as you will feel hot flashes, irritation , cold clammy skin with palpitation.
After few days you will feel good .
Gradually you can stop drug (tapers) after consultation with your doctor.
Good luck.
