Fatigue, Bad Cough, Runny Nose, Sore Throat. Rashes Around Hair, Ears, Legs, Arms. Fast Relief??
My 18-year-old daughter has been sick with fatigue , bad cough, runny nose and sore throat for almost a week. Yesterday she started getting a rash around her hair and ears and it is now on her legs and arms, too. She has mild asthma so her cough is causing her to tighten up and she is using an inhaler a lot. Also she took Musinex for two days for the cough, but she stopped yesterday in case that was causing the hives . She has a pretty poor immune system and has been allergic to three antibiotics in the past. She is taking and antihistamine for the rash, but it won t go away. Help! She is in a Beauty Pageant in five days!

With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of acute viral upper respiratory tract infection with associated rash.
These viral rash and respiratory tract infection has span of 3-4 days and symptoms progressively decreases.
She should consult with internal medicine specialist and should go for thorough check up.
She should take complete antibiotic therapy ( to avoid secondary bacterial infection), decongestants, mucolytics, and cough suppressants.
She should apply calamine lotion locally on rash.
Avoid cold drinks and oily food.
Perform gargle three times in day; a glass of lukewarm water with a pinch of salt.
