Does Heart Rate Monitoring Will Tell If Exercise Is Too Much?
Hi, I had a Angioplasty with one stent installed 19 months ago. I recently started heavy exercise (mostly running) in November. I feel great and am losing a little weight (10 lbs.) from 200 to 190 (5-11). My question is , I've been running 3 miles a day and want to increase to 4 miles. How do I know if I am doing too much. Is monitoring my heart rate enough?

Dear , that's good that you are leading active life even after Angioplasty and doing good with your exercise regime .So far so good . If you don't feel any problem , you can increase to 4 miles , but increase gradually . Never over do . Youcan also include Deep Breathing , Anulom Vilom , Bhrameri & meditation to strengthen yuor heart and , in fact whole body . Regular follow up with your doctor is necessary .
