Diagnosed With TB After Montoux And Sputum Test, Given Macok ZH, Mycobutol, Changed To Macox Plus. What's The Situation ?

My son is 7 years old since birth he has problem of Asthma.last year in the month of November based upon doctor recommendation we got Montux test and Sputum test done on him.Based upon possivite Montux test and possitive 3rd Sputum test he was dignoised with TB his weight was 19.5kg then. We trested him based upon doctor recommendations 2 months with Macok ZH kid 2 tablates per day empty stomuch and Mycobutol 400mg after breakfast.After 2months his weight become 21kg and doctor changed his medicines to Macox plus kid 2 tables per day before breakfast for 4months. Now after completing total 6months of treatment doctor recommended ESR test and result of which is shown as 18mm/hr higher side. Kindly suggest the presesnt siutation of my child.

Hi and thanks for the query, ' The ESR test also called the erythrocyte sedimentation rate is asked to determine the level of the inflammatory process going on in the body. An ESR of 18 is indicative of mild inflammation. This should be an indirect marker with respect to the success of the treatment. At six months after being on treatment, if the child sputum test is negative, with a good clinical response and an ESR of 18, I think it is very indicative of therapeutic success. You just need to consult your infectiologist for advice and further management. This nutritional component in the management of the child is of primordial importance.
