Death Due To Septic Pneumonia. History Of Spleen Removal

My friend died of septic pneumonia . Went from feeling unwell at noon and died within 10 hours. No signs or symptoms before that. He had is spleen removed and a piece of his pancreas as a child due to an accident. His white blood count was 3 when he was admitted to the hospital and they put him on IV antibiotics. Did the absence of his spleen play a big role in his sudden death?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi, in such a situation no one can come to a conclusion how did he die, and the cause of death. The bacteria might be a resistant strain, like M.R.S.A,and the resistance of your friend might be very less to act againest the bacteria, or some other disease might be there like diabetis, etc.
If you want a clear picture you can approach our ask a doctor , for direct approach to the chest physician. Thank you.
