Does Adderall Cause Pneumonia?

I take Adderall for ADHD steady for the last month and recently have been diagnosed with pneumonia. With the pneumonia everytime I take my Adderall I get short of breath. Is the Adderall what caused the pneumonia? When I take it with the pneumonia is it exacerbating the pneumonia?

Hello,

I'm sorry you had pneumonia. With Adderall, the risk of infection is 4%. So your observation of shortness of breath and exacerbation of pneumonia with Adderall might be true. I appreciate your observation power. Kindly taper the dose of Adderall slowly. Don't stop abruptly as it may cause withdrawal symptoms. You may start using the drug once you become free from pneumonia.
