Could Sore Throat With White Patches And Swollen Glands Be The Side Effects Of Increasing Oxybutynin Dosage?

Hello. I recently increased my oxybutynin from 5 mgs ER to 10mgs. ER and have an extremely sore throat with small white patches on the back of it. My glands are swollen as well. Could this be due to the oxybutynin? If so is this something I should be concerned with?

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
hi,
This condition is not due to increased dose of oxybutynin. Extreme sore throat with white patches with swollen glands is most likely follicular tonsillitis. You need to take appropriate antibiotics with analgesics and anti inflammatory agents.
