Can Thrush Be The Cause Of Constant Itching And Irritation While Peeing?

I have had several antibiotics over the last six months and I developed what I think was thrush. I was also anaemic last sept. I was itchy and had small white spots after having a camera looking at my womb. The spots wiped away and reappeared a week later after a vaginal swab. I have had several prescriptions for pessaries that seem to work and then the itching comes back. I now have a constant itching that is sometimes prickly and often irritation when weeing. Could I still have thrush?

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Vaginal thrush is a very common infection caused by yeast. It is characterized by vaginal irritation, intense itchiness and vaginal discharge. s many as 3 out of 4 women experience a yeast infection at some point in their lifetimes. Many women experience two or more yeast infections. So it is important that you consult your doctor and check if you have a subsequent yeast infection. If you have four or more infections in a single year then you may need a longer course of therapy and a maintenance plan.
