Can Swollen And Sore Neck Be Linked To A Stye In Eye?

why does another site say to see a doctor if you have a stye in eye and also swollen /sore neck? I am 52 years old, 5ft 3in. 9 stone. Medical history good except for bad cold at moment. Started with sore stiff neck, eye stye .... developed into bad cough, no energy, general cold symptons. Stye has returned same eye different eyelid, also sore neck is there a connection?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Stye may associated with swollen lymph nodes , which may also due to Upper respiratory infection, hair follicles infection or erythema etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Please consult your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly. For stye please consult your ophthalmologist he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
