ok - my mom, 58, recently had was is classified as a mini stroke. She has surgery about 12 weeks ago, and the stroke happened within the last 6-8 weeks. They are trying to pinpoint. However, now she has horrible stomach pains after eating. Some say that a stroke can bring on pains in other parts of the body. She gets the pain immediately after eating. She doesn t drink nor is a smoker. She was on a lot of medication and recently we ve been trying to get her off of the medicine. One medication we significantly lowered was Topamax (brand name). I m wondering if since the stroke, she has developed what some say could be stomach seizures and the Topamax was keeping the pain at bay. Thoughts?
