Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

In reference to your query I would like to clear the two very commonly used terms-

A- Epistaxis - means bleeding from nostril.

B- Hemoptysis- means blood in sputum.

In cases of sinusitis usually infected discharge as comes to nasal cavity ,it goes back due to ciliary movement and patient observe it as post nasal drip. Therefore in cases of sinusitis very often blood comes from sinuses and instead of coming forward it goes back along with discharge and patient spit it out.

In such cases if a thorough ENT examination is carried out than one may get blood in posterior choana during posterior rhinoscopy.

I hope your query is answered, please go ahead for ENT examination and your doctor will manage it accordingly.

Regards.
