Can Sinus Infection Which Has Caused Fluid In Ear Be Treated?

Hi. I have a sinus infection which has caused fluid in my inner ear. I have a horrible constant whooshing noise in it. I have been perscribed doxycycline for it. How long will it take for the fluid to go and the pain and noise to go and is there anything I can do at home to help it?
