Can I Double The Dose Of The Medication?

I got anxiety 2 months ago. My doc prescribed me Xanax for sleep .5 mg at bed time. Lately, I have been able to sleep 3-4 hours after taking the pill. I wonder that If I can double the dose? Is it safe? How to cut off from Xanax.

Xanax consists of clonazepam and if you are getting only 3 -4 hours of sleep, in that case, you can increase the dose. Chances of tolerance with benzodiazepine is high and may be after some day you again get tolerance for that dose. Better to take the drug on sos basis, that would avoid such kind of problem.
