Can Diarrhea Be Related To Flu In A Pregnant Woman?

Hi, I m 28 weeks pregnant and have a really bad flu. Have had mucus infected sinuses for the last five days. I now also have slight diorrea (I say slight as not much comes out) but its brown and has some mucus. Could you please advise if the diorrea is part of the flu I m having as I m a bit concerned. Thanks

Hello ma'am and welcome.

It is best to avoid medications during pregnancy and so I would just recommend steam inhalation and mild medications to help relieve some of your symptoms. But if at all you are on any medications (especially antibiotics), then the diarrhoea along with your flu symptoms is common.

Antibiotics can cause such a reaction and if at all you are on any medications, then it would be best to avoid them right now. But if at all you are not, then the diarrhoea is not really associated with the flu, but can be seen with pregnancy, but should be reported to your doctor.

Best wishes.
