Can Birth Control Cause Heavy Periods, Headache And Breast Tenderness?

31 yr old female, 5'4", 170 lbs. Hx of endometriosis, miscarriage in January, four year old son (preterm labor), hypothyroidism (medication has been cut in half in the last year- 0.137 mcg to .05 mcg).
Currently having increasing symptoms before monthly menstruation: intense motion like sickness 24/7 for 4-5 days, headaches, fatigue, heavy menstruation (lots of blood clots) lasting seven days, chills, breast tenderness, hot flashes. Right now I am having all of the above plus dark brown spotting. I have only had brown spotting in the past when I was on birth control. I have not been on birth control consistently since the birth of my son. It has been at least two years since my last round of birth control pills.
