Can Anxiety Cause Headaches And Vertigo Symptoms?

Hi. I have had on and off headaches for 3 weeks now and vertigo symptoms. When I lay my head down the room spins. I also have a constant sense of dizziness and feel like I am in a fog. I have been really stresses lately do I don't know if it is anxiety. I work and have 3 children. My neck muscles are also tense.

welcome to HCM!

I have read your question carefully and from my clinical experince I can say that there can be two inter- related factors behind your current condition.

One is stress, as you have mentioned.

Second, looks like you may have cervical spondylosis. To rule it out, one need to get an X Ray neck. If found, then person is asked to do exercises and given medicines for some days for vertigo and dizziness.

For stress and anxiety, I have found good reasons with paroxetine or venalafaxine or sertraline in most if the patients.

So, first see if you hav either problem along with stress and then work towards trematent.
Wish you good health!

Pleas donot feel helpless, as these symptoms are completely manageable with treatment.

Hope the reply is helpful ,
feel free to ask more questions.
