Bulky Non Gravid Uterus With Heterogeneous Echo Pattern
hi doc, i am 22 years old.. i had a scan which showed bulky non-gravid retroverted uterus with heterogeneous echo pattern. i am scared as i dont know what to do. pls am i at risk of cancer and infertility? thanks

there are so many causes depending on whether you have menstrual problem or not.it can be a benign growthlike fibroid or due to some other reasons.you should consult a gynaec for it and get yourself properly examined.

The finding could mean many things. Are you losing weight and appetite. Bulky non-gravid means uterus has some thickening and swelling and is turned backwards instead of forwards due to fibroid (relatively not harmful and can be removed or left alone), endometriosis and adenomyosis which require treatment. Mostly the Doctor will schedule a D&C procedure to view how your endometrium looks and any signs of the above latter diseases. After this only anything can be commented on fertility. Consult your Gynaecologist on this and get appropriate advice and treatment.
