Bouts Of Diarrhea Followed By Sore Throat And Cold Symptoms
My 10 year old son has been ill for over a week now. I don t know if all his symptoms are related or not but thought I d give you all the information in case they are. He had bouts of diarrhea from January 25 - 27th or 28th. Sore throat kicked in on Jan. 29th followed by cold symptoms (stuffy nose and cough) on Jan. 30th. He s been dealing with they cold and sore throat ever since. Tonsils are swollen with red veins and there are white bumps on the back of his tongue. Had him in to see doctor on Friday Jan. 31st and she said it was a virus. He did not have a temp except a slight one (100 degrees) last night. It was gone this morning. Since it s been a week of dealing with the sore throat and cold and he s feeling worse rather than better, I m wondering if I should bring him in again to see if it s some sort of an infection or if you feel it s still just a virus.

I really appreciate your concern, episode of virus infection is very commonly seen in this age and most of the time the condition may not needs any treatment unless it is indicative for that and serious one, passing of the stool three to four time in day is normal one but care needs to be taken for hydration and balanced diet, else it is nothing to worry hope this information helps.
