Hi friend
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Generally doctors ask for basic blood tests, relevant to your condition (- to save your money).
If something abnormal is found, more tests are asked depending on the results.

You have not said anything except Diabetes - so it is not possible to predict correctly.
There may be Hypothyroidism - he might have done only T-4 first. T-3 and TSH need to be done; some times more tests.. .
Fatty liver is common in diabetes - especially if not controlled well. That may be the reason to ask for ultrasound.

It is not right to go on guessing more!
You should do the tests as requested / and follow up with your doctor...

Take care
Wishing you speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck

Hi,
Welcome to HCM
Thyroid function test low means hypothyroid state tahat is a high TSH level, and liver function test are also high different enzyme levels a measured which may be high like SGPT or SGOT.
As you are diabetic get a Ultrasound examination of abdomen and chances of fatty liver is there and by any chance alcohol intake is there then liver problem may be partly because of alcohol.
Keep your diabetes under controll and avoid alcohol if it is there.
Low thyroid can be treate dwith drugs and treatment of liver depends on result of investigations.
Hope for best
Good Luck to you.
