Any Need To Take Probiotic While Taking Nystatin And How Long To Continue?

Hi, I am currently taking Nystatin tablets 3 X/day for 14 days for candida albicans which I ve suffered from for 3 months. My questions are: Is two weeks long enough to be on Nystatin? and should I be taking a probiotic while I m on Nystatin? or wait until I am done with them. Thank you. Elin

Hello Elin,
Thank you for the query at HCM

You can take probiotics along with Nystatin. Probiotics will increase the good bacterial flora and help fight fungal infection. You should continue treatment with Nystatin for 2 weeks to clear up the infection completely.

Hope this answers your question
