2 Year Old Has Lump On The Neck, Feels Like Rubbery Movable Lump, Born With SS Sickle Cell. What Could This Be?

Hi doctor. I was just rubbing my 2 year old daughter s neck and felt a lump on the right side of her head near her skull . It s a rubbery lump and moves around a little. She was born with SS sickle cell. I m taking her to her pediatrician tomorrow morning , but I m very worried and want to know what this may be. Should I be worried?

It looks like posterior occipital lymph node enlargement-this is a lymph node which is felt under the skin when enlarged.This can be due to some infection in the scalp area. Your doctor will confirm tomorro when you go.
