Question: I have PCOS and irregular MC of 37-55 Days for last 1 year. my doctor suggests me to have NOVELON for next 3 months with fol-5. I want a child and I think NOVELON contradictory in this case. my doctor told me to meet him after 3 months after finishing this course. Will this NOVELON lead me to INFARTILITY?? can I be pregnant after stopping the course of NOVELON? please help.

Brief Answer:
PCOS

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply

1. Since there was PCOS which leads to irregular periods, your doctor has prescribed novelon.

2. Novelon is an oral contraceptive pill which is used for family planning and not to get pregnant.

3. If you are planning to conceive the treatment is different and you should not be taking novelon.

4. Therefore please see an IVF centre or infertility Specialist for getting regular ovulation induction along with follicular growth scan.

5. Taking novelon will delay pregnancy.

Let me know if you have any more questions.
